If you are ready to do this then the first thing that you should do is to change the location or use of old furniture. If you have an old book case that you are not using, transfer it to your kitchen. This can help hold other items like pots and pans or you can use it as your spice rack. Next, see if you can use it outdoors. If you have a garden, you can use old items to put your plants in or you can simply use it to grow plants as you create your own garden theme. If the old furniture is still usable and just needs a new part, replace them. Go to your local hardware and find the missing pieces.
